Our mission

Increase queer creativity and representation in the marketing industry. This means inclusion, connection and brand experience that drive sustainable, visible change for those still left out of the field.

NGLCC Certified LGBT Business Enterprise

Do the WeRQ is a Certified LGBT Business Enterprise per the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.

Get involved

Loud and queer values

Our values are real, not rhetoric.

Fulfilled creativity

Feeling safe and encouraged enough to be 100% yourself. The result? Amazing ideation unique to our community.

What it looks like: “I finally, comfortably shared my story of adopting a child with my partner to inspire a new strategy for our family-oriented client pitch.”

Active transparency

Truth can hurt, but it can also help. In a world where it’s continuously difficult to gauge who and what is real, we’re purposefully candid.

What it looks like: “I was honest about my struggle to our diversity partner and it sparked a new office policy.”

Determined education

Addressing your mistakes and fixing them head-on by educating yourself. Nobody’s perfect , so get over yourself and Do The WeRQ.

What it looks like: “When I got someone’s pronoun wrong, I apologized and read up on gender identity. I didn’t get it wrong after that. It wasn’t that hard, but I needed to stop, think, respect and course-correct.”

Confident discomfort

We’re overriding any hard and fast opinions we’ve formed and confronting our unconscious biases, bringing ourselves face-to-face with enlightening facts, insights and opportunities.

What it looks like: “When I didn’t know much about housing discrimination, I entered the conversation anyways, willing to learn and ready to contribute.”

Rival collaboration

For the WeRQ to actually happen, we all have to do it, together. When we’re all pushed to unite around our best end result, everyone wins.

What it looks like: “I was empowered to connect with people outside of my own agency and immediate community at a purposeful, planned meeting where we launched a website to raise money for homeless LGBTQIA+ youth.”

Enduring ambition

Instead of just talking about something and hoping it manifests, we’re committed to taking action, getting lasting results and driving real cultural change.

What it looks like: “This fall I connected with local political leaders to push forward a new bill that benefits the LGBTQIA+ community– and not just during Pride.”

Defied boundaries

We’re acknowledging the boundaries we’ve created — both professionally and personally — and are breaking down bias in favor of progress.

What it looks like: “At my annual review, I brought up to my supervisor that we had no LGBTQ+ representation on the accounts team higher than Account Supervisor – and even those roles weren’t connected to queer agency mentors.”

The court

We’re incredibly fortunate to have a team of founders and leaders who shape our efforts. They’re known as The Court and they’re tireless in their efforts to create visibility and equity. This group of seasoned agency professionals, veterans and freelancers work to create visibility and equity for our queer family in the industry.
